Shoefitr, a shoe size-fitting recommendation tool, was one of the most promising startups at the Launch conference yesterday, taking home the “Most Likely to be Acquired” award. This will be an extremely useful add-on for online shoe retailers to not only reduce the percentage of product returns, but also increase user confidence and intent to purchase. Shoefitr allows users to first enter the make, model, and size of a shoe they currently wear, and then using their database of 3D image scans of other shoes, determine what size the user should purchase in a different brand. Throughout the Q&A session, all you could hear were judges saying “Amazon needs to buy this now!”
